Join Team Si for the 10th Annual Buddy Walk!

Rob and I are so excited for our family's first Buddy Walk.  Ian and Lily weren't excited about "walking" until they found out about the Bouncers, Food, Rock Wall, etc.  Now they are excited too.

Please join us, however you can, in supporting Down Syndrome Awareness and Inclusion.  Money raised also goes toward research and education programs.  There are several ways to be involved.

1. $14 to walk with Team Si on the 12th
-includes t-shirt
-entry into the field for the fun stuff

2. Pledge money on behalf of Team Si
-any amount

3. Become a sponsor of The Walk if you are a business owner
-minimum $500
-several opportunities to advertise your business.

You can also come the day of the event and walk on for $10.  T-shirts may be available there but are limited.

They can't stand him.

Right.  Can you tell?  They think this baby can do no wrong.  I am tempted to agree, but have to keep my right mind.  He'll be trying to yell at me soon enough.

Si thinks they are pretty great too though.  I do believe that Seth is his favorite.  I can't wait till they are old enough to be buddies.  Although they will also be partners in crime.  :/

Family Time

It was good times in ole Springfield, Missouri.  Not only did we get to see all of our family, we also did a little site seeing.  It was nice to go to some old places from the past and also see some new additions to our home town.  The kids enjoyed themselves.  Rob and I saw several old friends.  Ian, Lily and Seth loved Silver Dollar City.  Si was spoiled by every member of my family.  So overall it was a great trip.

I have these pictures....

.... that Betsy took for me when Ian and Lily were 3 and 3 months of me and them.  I wanted some with Seth and Si at close ages to match them.  So, "my photographer friend" (as I call her to my mom to differientiate between all the Gina's that I know...since she can see the spellings.)  So, anyway,  Gena came over and shot us.  They turned out perfect!  My sweet S's look so cute!  So here are some of my favorites!  I can't find the digital versions of Ian and Lily, but if I do, I'll post them.

Ian about Si

Our nightly ritual since we've had kids is READ, SING, PRAY.  Every night.  We sometimes get lazy or it gets too late and we don't READ, but we ALWAYS SING AND PRAY.  Ian is especially dependent on those 2 things.  His 2 songs have always been Jesus loves the little children and "have I not commanded you".  So to mix things up some nights I will substitute children for one or all of their names.  The other night, I sang ".....all the Si, Si's of the world...."  After we finished, I could Ian was deep in thought.  He finally looked at me and said, "I think Jesus must REALLY love Si and kids like him...you know, with Down Syndrome."  I asked why.  He says, "I just think they are special.  I think he thinks they are really special"  I told him that Jesus thinks all children and special but I think he is probably right.

I'm so thankful for how my sweet kids show their love for Si.  Even Seth is in love with him.  Ian is different because he "gets it"... he has some understanding of what is a head for Si and he seems to be preparing to be there for him.  It's so cool to be able to see your kids' hearts changing.
